What is Expnse?
Expnse is a personal finance tool that helps you understand real spending by importing purchase receipts from your Gmail or Outlook inbox. We request read-only access to locate legitimate receipts (e.g., order confirmations, trip receipts) while ignoring newsletters and promos. We do not send emails, modify your mailbox, or access contacts or files.
- Data we use: receipt sender, subject, dates, amounts, order IDs, and basic merchant info extracted from receipt messages.
- How it’s used: we categorize transactions and show totals and trends in your private dashboard. You can recategorize, delete, or restore items anytime.
- Storage & control: imported data is stored securely in our database for your account only. You can disconnect Google/Microsoft or permanently delete your account/data from Settings at any time.
- Privacy: we never sell user data. Access is limited to providing the described features.
